Είναι μια αρχή.
Στη δική μου μικρή πόλη, που κάποτε είχε μεγάλη εβραϊκή κοινότητα, ούτε λόγος για τέτοιες δράσεις. Παρά το γεγονός πως την -άτυπη- αντιδημαρχία κατέχει ένας εβραίος δημότης.
Προσωπικά, αισθάνομαι ντροπή που παραχώνουμε την ιστορία, επειδή δεν συμφέρει την κυρίαρχη θρησκευτική (;) – κοινωνική (;) ομάδα. Μπορεί να μη συζητιέται ανοιχτά, αλλά είναι γνωστές από τις γιαγιάδες μας οι ιστορίες για το πως καταλήστευσαν, καταχράστηκαν και ιδιωποιήθηκαν τις περιουσίες, τα σπίτια και τις επιχειρήσεις των “οβριών” της πόλης. Είναι συγκλονιστικές οι διηγήσεις για ανθρώπους που σώθηκαν και επέστρεψαν οι ίδιοι -ή οι συγγενείς τους- να βρουν τις περιουσίες και τις ρίζες τους και δεν βρήκαν τίποτα.
Είναι γνωστές όμως και άλλες ιστορίες, αλληλεγγύης, υποστήριξης και βαθύτατων δεσμών μεταξύ των ανθρώπων. Ιστορίες που με κάνουν να συγκινούμαι κάθε φορά που ακούω τη χριστιανή μαμά μου να μου λέει πως κάθε Σάββατο πήγαινε στο σπίτι της κολλητής της Εσθήρ για να τους ανάβει το τζάκι, πως αντάλλασσαν επισκέψεις η μία στις θρησκευτικές γιορτές της άλλης, πως ο κύριος Σάμης πήγαινε πάντα στη συναγωγή μαζί με τον (χριστιανό) θείο μου πριν πάνε την καθιερωμένη τους Σαββιατιάτικη βόλτα. Πως σώθηκε το σπίτι των Κοέν, που την ώρα που τους έβαζαν στα καμιόνια, η μαμά της οικογένειας πέταξε τα κλειδιά στη γειτόνισσα που τους κοιτούσε συντετριμμένη. Και εκείνη το φρόντιζε μέχρι να πεθάνει.
Συγγνώμη που παρασύρθηκα, αλλά ειδικά στις σημερινές συνθήκες είναι καιρός να καταλάβουμε όλοι πως η ιστορία μας με τα καλά της και τα κακά της, μόνο να μας διδάξει μπορεί. Αρκεί να μεταφέρεται με ειλικρίνεια και χωρίς φανατισμό.

Δεν εκπλήσσομαι με τα προβλήματα που καταγράφονται. Με αφορμή άλλες συζητήσεις, έχω πεί ότι χρειάζεται αρκετή προεργασία για να αναδειχθεί ο πλούτος της πόλης και να ανοιχτεί η πόλη στους επισκέπτες. Και ενημέρωση, να μάθουμε πριν πούμε στους άλλους, να κάνουμε και παρουσιάσιμα αυτά που έχουμε να δείξουμε, με απόλυτο σεβασμό στις μνήμες και τις ευαισθησίες, με υπεύθυνη στάση απέναντι στην άγνοια και τα αμφιλεγόμενα.
Χρόνια βασανίζομαι με το που ακριβώς θα πάνε φίλοι προτεστάντες που αναζητούν τα τοπία των προς Θεσσαλονικείς επιστολών.
Πέρισυ το Δεκέμβρη ρώτησα σε τρία ξενοδοχεία πού είναι το Εβραϊκό Μουσείο και δε γνώριζαν. Τις καλύτερες πληροφορίες για το 151 τις έχω από αφηγήσεις ανθρώπων που δεν υπάρχουν πια και γνώριζαν τους εργάτες και τεχνίτες της προπολεμικής εβραϊκής κοινότητας, χριστιανοί οι ίδιοι.
Η κατάσταση με το ΑΠΘ με πλήγωνε κάθε φορά που βρισκόμουνα για κάποιο συνέδριο στη Γαλλία, κυρίως.
Μάλλον είναι καιρός να φτιαχτεί μια επιτροπή από το Δήμο για να αναζητήσει τα προαπαιτούμενα του σκοπού, να αναγνωριστεί ο πλούτος της πόλης και η ευπρόσωπη παρουσία και παρουσίασή του.

Πολυ ωραιο κομματι. Εχω ενα γενικο σχολιο. Το παραδειγμα του περιπατου ειναι χαρακτηριστικο της διοικησης Μπουταρη. Θελει αλλα δεν εχει την δυνατοτητα να ειναι καλυτερη. Ο δρομος για την κολαση ειναι στρωμενοε με καλες προθεσεις. Δεν ειναι η πρωτη φορα που αποτυγχανει στην εκτελεση
