\nMy paternal grandfather (Georgos Tzelios) was a makedonomachos and had to leave his village of Vogatsiko in 1907. He established himself in Montreal and remained there until 1926 or 1927.
\nWhen he returned he left the village and went to Thessaloniki. He built 3 appartment houses, one was known as “o lefkos oikos” at Tsimiski #81 (See photos) I would like to know whether there is any mention of him in your paper in the years 1926 or 27. I believe the paper started in 1926.
\nMy maternal grandfather (Paschalis Guinis) was educated in a Turkish military college in Constantinople and at some time in the early ’20s was in Thessaloniki representing German companies (Insurance ?) in Greece. I was told that he had one of the first automobiles in Thessaloniki. He served in the army as a tranlator. He was cited by General Alexander for helping British soldiers leave Thessaloniki.
\nHis daughter, Marika, my mother, was engaged to be married to my father, Nicholas Tzelios in 1929. The announcement and her photo may have appeared in your paper
