“Αν λοιπόν για εμάς, τους Θεσσαλονικείς μη Εβραίους, είναι τελικά αδύνατο να φανταστούμε τον πόνο των δικών μας Εβραίων, ίσως έχει έρθει επιτέλους η στιγμή να ψελίσουμε ότι και για τους Εβραίους συμπολίτες μας είναι πλέον αδύνατο να φανταστούν την ντροπή μας. Η πόλη της Θεσσαλονίκης άργησε αδικαιολόγητα πολύ να σπάσει τη σιωπή της και να αρχίσει να μνημονεύει την πιο ζοφερή στιγμή της ιστορίας της. Σήμερα όμως μπορεί να λέει ότι ντρέπεται για αυτή την άδικη και ένοχη σιωπή. Ντρέπεται για όσους δοσίλογους Θεσσαλονικείς συνεργάστηκαν με τους κατακτητές, για όσους γείτονες καταχράστηκαν περιουσίες, για όσους πρόδωσαν εκείνους που προσπάθησαν να διαφύγουν. Κυρίως, ντρέπεται για τις αρχές της πόλης: για το δήμαρχο και το Γενικό Διοικητή που συμφώνησαν αδιαμαρτύρητα να καταστρέψουν οι εργάτες του δήμου εν μία νυκτί 500 χρόνια μνήμης, και να μετατρέψουν το μεγαλύτερο εβραϊκό νεκροταφείο της Ευρώπης σε έναν κρανίου τόπο. Ντρέπεται για τον έφορο της αρχαιολογικής υπηρεσίας που «εξεπλάγη» όταν το 1946 η εβραϊκή κοινότητα διαμαρτυρήθηκε για τη χρήση των επιτύμβιων πλακών ως οικοδομικού υλικού για την ανοικοδόμηση του ναού του Αγίου Δημητρίου. Και ντρέπεται για εκείνους τους πρυτάνεις που μετά τον πόλεμο έχτισαν την πανεπιστημιούπολη δίπλα και πάνω στα κατεστραμμένα μνήματα χωρίς να στήσουν μια αναθηματική πλάκα. Δεν έχει νόημα να απολογούμαστε εμείς σήμερα για τις πράξεις τους –η ευθύνη ούτε συλλογική είναι ούτε και μεταβιβάζεται. Αναγνωρίζουμε ωστόσο ότι οι θεσμοί που εκπροσωπούμε (αλλά και αποδεχόμαστε να μας εκπροσωπούν), δεν γεννήθηκαν χτες. Έχουν από πίσω τους μια ιστορία, είναι φορείς μνήμης με συνέχεια στο χρόνο. Αναγνωρίζουμε δηλαδή ότι η απώλεια των 56.000 Εβραίων Θεσσαλονικέων είναι απώλεια για όλους μας –Χριστιανούς, Εβραίους και Μουσουλμάνους, άθεους και αγνωστικιστές. Είναι απώλεια για εκείνους που έζησαν αλλά και για όλους εκείνους που θα ζήσουν εδώ μετά από εμάς. Το Ολοκαύτωμα δεν σφράγισε μόνο το παρελθόν της πόλης μας, αλλά έκανε κάτι χειρότερο: της έκλεψε το μέλλον. Ποιος αμφιβάλλει ότι μια Θεσσαλονίκη μητέρα-πατρίδα μιας ανθούσας και κοσμοπολίτικης εβραϊκής κοινότητας θα ήταν μια άλλη πόλη; Επειδή λοιπόν η απώλεια είναι τελικά δική μας, η μνήμη του Ολοκαυτώματος δεν αφορά μόνο την εβραϊκή κοινότητα αλλά όλους εμάς. Μας αφορά ως Θεσσαλονικείς, ως Έλληνες και Ευρωπαίους. Αποκαθιστά τους δεσμούς μας με την πόλη και συμβάλει στην ανθρωπιά μας”

Thu, 13 Nov 2014 08:32:54 +0000http://thess.gr/blog/?p=4877#comment-2412Eτσι ειναι Πανο!Η ντροπη ειναι ολη δικη τους!!!!,Παντα αποτελεσαν την Ελιτ αυτης της πολης αλλα και τωρα σ’ αυτην την δυσκολη στιγμη θρασυδειλα θελουν να δειξουν υπεροχη!!.Θελουν να ειναι και μονοι τους.Πολλες φορες προσφερθηκα για βοηθεια αλλα δεν θελουν .Μονοι τους κλεινονται μονοι τους προδονονται , Εναι ντροπη δικη τους τωρα να ακολουθουν εναν μωροφιλοδοξο ματαιοδοξο κια μικροσυμφεροντολογο γερο μεσα στην κριση ενω ο λαος ψαχνει στα σκουπιδια και πρεπει να βοηθησουν .Θα το μετανοιωσουν καποτε.Που ηταν ολοι αυτοι οταν ο καημενος ο Νικος Πανταζοπουλος αγωνιζονταν με νυχια και με δοντια να σωσει τον παλαιοεβραικο ταφο στα θεμελια του κτιριου διοικησης του ΑΠΘ την δεκαετια του ’80!!!???ΑΙΔΩΣ !!!ΑΙΔΩΣ!!!

Όμως το ότι μιλήσαμε “στους φίλους μας” δεν είναι το ίδιο με το να κάναμε κάτι. Περιγράφω μια κατάσταση στην πόλη που ζω σήμερα και γράφω πως ξεκίνησε το 1981 και ντρέπομαι που δεν μπορέσαμε να κάνουμε κάτι εμείς που αρκεστήκαμε απλά να γράψουμε κάτι στα blog μας. Ντρέπομαι ακόμα και τώρα που κάτι ξεκίνησε να γίνεται, γινεται έτσι ώστε να μην ενοχλήσει, ντρέπομαι που αντί η συζήτηση να περιστρέφεται γύρω από την πιο ανοιχτή δαχείριση του θέματος, εμείς συζητάμε για το αν ντρεπόμαστε ή όχι. Με ενοχλεί που το επίκεντρο αυτής της συζήτησης, για αρκετούς, είναι μικροπολιτικά παιχνίδια. Το θέμα είναι μεγαλύτερο από κάθε πρόσωπο.
Όμως η ντροπή είναι κάτι προσωπικό και δεν επιβάλλετε.

Μια ζωή θυμάμαι τον εαυτό μου “απέναντι” στις ελίτ και στις πλειοψηφίες της πόλης (στην οποία ήρθα το 1979) – πάει πολύ τώρα να μου ζητάνε αυτοί να ντρέπομαι… για λογαριασμό τους. ΥΓ. Για τα υπολλείμματα του Εβραϊκού νεκροταφείου στην Πανεπιστημιούπολη έχουν ανέβει αρκετά ποστ (και φωτογραφίες) στην καλύβα. Ένα μάλιστα απ’ αυτά είναι γραμμένο από επαγγελματία (τώρα, φοιτητή τότε) αρχαιολόγο.
