Π.χ. Διεθνές φεστιβάλ αστυνομικών μυθιστορημάτων, ή μυθιστορημάτων τρόμου. Αυτό θα έκανε μοναδικό το φεστιβάλ. Παρόλ’ αυτά, η διοργάνωσή του είναι αναγκαία για τον εντός συνόρων κόσμο των γραμμάτων.

Βλέπω στο site της έκθεσης μέχρι και δωρεάν λεωφορεία για το κοινό από Αθήνα. Αξιοσημείωτο και αυτό για το πώς αντιμετωπίζεται η πόλη από τους διαργανωτές.

Τώρα, για την εγκαινίαση του θεσμού της τιμώμενης χώρας στην έκθεση στην επαρχιακή μας πόλη, δεν είναι κάτι το νέο στο χώρο τέτοιων εκθέσεων. Υπάρχει φυσικά στη μεγαλύτερη διεθνή έκθεση βιβλίου (της Φρανκφούρτης) και είναι μεν κάτι το καινούριο για τα δεδομένα της έκθεσης, αλλά όχι το πρωτότυπο που χρειάζεται. Δηλαδή, μπορεί να είναι μία συνταγή που θα προσφέρει σίγουρη επιτυχία στους εκδοτικούς οίκους και τους συγγραφείς της τιμώμενης χώρας εντός συνόρων, αλλά δε θα βοηθήσει στο να δοθεί ένας ιδιαίτερος χαρακτήρας στην ίδια την έκθεση. Παρόλ’ αυτά, είναι προφανές ότι αυτή η κίνηση αναβαθμίζει το Φεστιβάλ. Ταυτόχρονα όμως, του βάζει και ταβάνι.

Το κατά πόσο δε είναι διεθνές, είναι ένα ζήτημα. Γιατί πέρυσι από τα δύο ή τρία περίπτερα (δε θυμάμαι καλά), μόνον ένα δωμάτιο ενός περιπτέρου φιλοξενούσε ξενόγλωσσες εκδόσεις. Φυσικά, δεν προσμένει κανείς θαύματα από τους ανθρώπους του ΕΚΕΒΙ και των λοιπών διοργανωτών, αλλά το σημειώνουμε ως μία ακόμα έκφανση της απομόνωσης αυτής της πόλης και της μετάλλαξής της από διεθνές κέντρο σε ενδοσκοπική α(ν)εργούπολη.
