Το έντυπο με τίτλο “Μνημεία οθωμανικής περιόδου” εκδόθηκε από την εφορεία Βυζαντινών αρχαιοτήτων.

Αυτό δε το είχα αντιληφθεί εκ των προτέρων. Ευχαριστώ για τη διευκρίνιση. Άστοχη και επιεικώς απαράδεκτη ενέργεια της ΕΒΑ.Αν αναφέρει δε, τη Ροτόντα ως βυζαντινό μνημείο είναι ακόμα πιο απαράδεκτο καθώς όπως λέτε και εσείς είναι ρωμαϊκό. Προορίζονταν για Μαυσωλείο αλλά ποτέ δεν έγινε και τέλος πάντως λειτούργησε αρχικά ως παγανιστικός ναός αφιερωμένος στον Λαμπρό Ήλιο ή Sol Invictus που υποτίθεται ότι ήταν ο ίδιος ο Γαλέριος – Αυτοκράτωρ/Θεός.

Δεν καταλαβαίνω ποιά ακριβώς είναι η ενστασή σου. Εφόσον λοιπόν ασχολείται και εκδίδει έντυπα θα πρέπει να το κάνει σωστά. Εφόσον έχει αναλάβει όλη την περίοδο η συγκεκριμένη εφορεία δεν μπορεί να μην εντάσει στα οθωμανικά μνημεία το Λευκό Πύργο. Και επίσης δεν μπορεί να βαφτίζει τη Ροτόντα βυζαντινή.

Δηλαδή δύο προτάσεις υπάρχουν
α) Η εφορεία βυζαντινών αρχαιοτήτων ασχολείται μόνο με τα βυζαντινά (ουτε με ρωμαικά, οθωμανικά και νεότερα) και θα πρέπει το κράτος να φτιάξει άλλες τρεις εφορείες να ασχοληθούν με τα υπόλοιπα
ή

β) Η εφορεία ασχολείται με όλα τα μνημεία και το κάνει με σωστό τρόπο

Τι δεν καταλαβαίνεις;

Τεχνικά μιλώντας έχεις δίκιο.

Ομως ο σκοπός του κειμένου δεν είναι να προγκήξει την Εφορεία Βυζαντινών Αρχαιοτήτων, αλλά να καταδείξει μια αντίληψη στην πόλη μας που αποσιωπά μια ιστορία αιώνων μόνο και μόνο γιατί δεν ήταν ελληνορθόδοξη.

Στην τελική, ας θεσμοθετηθεί μια Εφορεία Οθωμανικών Αρχαιοτήτων, για να πράξει τα δέοντα.

Ωστόσο, αυτό που δεν καταλαβαίνω, για να ξαναγυρίσουμε στην Εφορεία Βυζαντινών Αρχαιοτήτων, είναι γιατί ασχόλείται με τη Ροτόντα, που δεν είναι αντικείμενό της, καθότι βυζαντινό. Θα μου πεις, το Βυζάντιο μετεξέλιξη της Ρωμαϊκής αυτοκρατορίας ήτανε. Σωστά, μόνο που για κάποιους σήμερα, και η Οθωμανική αυτοκρατορία ήταν μετεξέλιξη της Βυζαντινής, άρα μήπως εντέλει, βάσει αυτού του σκεπτικού, θα έπρεπε να ασχολείται η Εφ. Βυζ. Αρχαιτ. και με τα οθωμανικά μνημεία, ή απλώς δεν είναι πρόκειται να συμβεί ποτέ κάτι τέτοιο, γιατί τότε θα παραδεχθούμε κάτι που δεν μας συμφέρει να παραδεχτούμε;

Εντούτοις οι υπ’ αριθμόν 2, 3, 4, 5 παρατηρήσεις σου με βρίσκουν απολύτως σύμφωνο.

Γιατί θα πρέπει η Εφορία Βυζαντινών Αρχαιοτήτων να ασχολείται με μη βυζαντινά μνημεία της οθωμανικής και νεοτουρκικής περιόδου; Ποίοι είναι οι λόγοι; Αντιθέτως – ενδεικτικά θα σου αναφέρω 5 λόγους για τους οποίους δεν πρέπει να ασχοληθούν.

1) Δεν είναι αντικείμενο τους
2) Αν ασχοληθούν κάποιοι θα τους κράξουν λόγω του 1)
3) Παρ’ όλα αυτά αν συνεχίσουν θα κάνουν λάθη λόγω του 1)
4) Δε θα πάρουν χρηματοδότηση λόγω του 1)
5) Εν τέλει δε θα γίνει σωστή δουλειά…
